
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most famous role was private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor In the Drama Series (1980-1988) as well as won the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 until 2010, Selleck has played the role of New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005 He has played the an uneasy police chief from a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Since Magnum, P.I., he has appeared in over fifty roles on television as well as in film, such as the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He played the recurring television character of Monica Geller's love interest, Dr. Richard Burke in Friends as Lance White (the likeable but unassuming character) in The Rockford Files and as A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also played the lead role in the western television film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
